Oliver is an orphan who escapes the cheerless life of the workhouse and takes to the streets of 19th centaury London to seek his fortune. Taken in by a band of street urchins, Oliver's new friends include lovable villain Fagin, his fiendish henchman Bill Sykes and the loyal apprentice The Artful Dodger who will teach him to "Pick a Pocket or Two".
