Mark Smith

Mark Smith studied life drawing, ceramics and sculpture at the Camberwell School of Art in London in 1985, and then studied stone carving at the City of London Polytechnic in 1990. He has worked as a ceramics mould maker, a modeller and carver, and has also worked at Furniture Design Sydney. In 2001 he continued his studies in sculpture and life drawing at Cairns TAFE. He has recently returned to painting with an interest in history, political art, social commentary, narrative, 'what lies beneath the surface', and things that are unspoken. He believes that art should be a platform for freedom of expression without censorship.
