How do we perceive
the world around us?
Is our perception of a place created by who we are?
Is it the sum total of our experience, our memories, our physical
wellbeing or even our gender?
Which aspect of the landscape do we choose to focus on when we
view the wider scene with our narrowed line of sight?
An iconic image of
Flinders Island.
Visually dominating the landscape with its power, strength, its
durability.
The viewer's eye cannot help but be drawn to it as the rock creates
an emotional fulcrum for the environment around it.
Darnielle Fenn has been a practicing artist since 1979. She has
worked in many mediums including etching, lithography, screen-printing,
photography, watercolour, oil and charcoal. Presently she is exploring
drawing with graphite.
Darnielle's work is
currently focused on the theme of rocks in the landscape. She
asks "What do we choose to see when we are looking a the
broader view?"
