Having
lived and worked near the seashore for most of my life,
I have utilised driftwood for woodturning and other projects
for many years.
Finding
a message in a bottle this year, 2006 led to the inspiration
of making a bottle shaped box with a barnacle lid, showing
the two being associated in their travels around the seas.
This
was also the idea behind the Current Bottle, showing the
ocean currents on a half bottle.
The
bottles made from native King Island timbers come from
one of my hobbies of digging for old bottle and artefacts
on King Island and they fit into the bottle theme of my
exhibits.
