- European
Wasps have been baited on King Island over the Summer. There
may be some reduction in population due to this. One nest was
discovered and destroyed using insecticide powder. Nests are now
finishing with new queens going off to hibernate over winter.
They will then form new nests in Spring. An effort to monitor
and bait European Wasps will resume next Spring/Summer. In the
meantime, watch out for hibernating queens in wood piles, freight,
and warm spots.
